Dale gives all his spare money to his son, who is actually John Redcorn’s biological son. □ Dale is actually a better husband to Nancy than boring rageful repressed Hank is to narcissistic mediocre Peggy, Sug. Ugh, get it together Peggy! Amateur mistake! Bobby, get me a frog! My favorite KOTH characters challenge the status quo. KOTH developed their characters to make them flawed (real). Lol my point is, KOTH wouldn’t be an interesting show if all the relationships were completely conventional with a “masculine” breadwinner husband in a 9-to-5 job and boring baby-making wife. After being promoted at StikTek, he went back to his true love of killing bugs. Dale ended up teaching extermination at the end of the vocation vacation episode. Dale and Nancy have an unconventional relationship, but they seem to make it work, to the benefit of their son Joseph. Bill deserved someone like Laoma (Kahn’s mother). Overbearing Square Peg and Uptight narrow-urethra generally stuck in the 1950s Hank belong together. Ho yeah! □ I love the flawed characters of King of the Hill. If I may be an advocate of the devil : another character also thought finances and sex were super important. The notion that Dale must be the breadwinner and masculine sex provider of the house is just the kind of stuck in the 1950s relationship that KOTH pokes fun at (Andy Griffith and Aunt Freaking Bee!)□ Dale is attractive to other women, and Nancy gets jealous. Lol I read your comment in Peggy Hill’s voice. In this older style of flashback he looks just like Dale does now, however even in the older depictions he’s still called "Bug." Most likely, this is another instance of a character being retconned in appearance and personality as the series progressed.Everything related to King of The Hill! (Images, videos, quotes, news, articles, thoughts, trivia, etc.) Episode Discussion Archive In a flashback Dale has earlier in the series, his father can be seen giving him a ventriloquist's dummy for his birthday (much to Dale's chagrin.) He can also be seen in a flashback early in the series about looking after their sons in the " The Order of the Straight Arrow". However, after he sees Bug kiss Juan Pedro, Dale realizes that his dad was telling the truth and is perfectly fine with it. Dale then goes to the rodeo to inform the men there his dad is monitoring them. When Bug first tries to tell Dale he's gay and that Juan Pedro is his partner, Dale again hates him after he is convinced his dad's a government agent. Years later, with help from Hank, the two reconcile their differences. Upon seeing Dale, he grabbed the nearest woman he could find, who turned out to Nancy, and kissed her as a cover-up because he was insecure at the time and didn't want Dale to find out he was gay. As it turns out he was using this as a cover up for his homosexuality because at the time he was flirting with a gay Filipino caterer who was part of the wedding party crew and was about to kiss him. He was hated by Dale for years after Bug grabbed his son's wife, Nancy, and kissed her at their wedding. Bug also has a boyfriend named Juan Pedro. He is homosexual and works at the Lonestar Gay Rodeo.
